According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a westerly wave is currently affecting the upper and central parts of Pakistan.
During these weather conditions, expect increased rain, wind, and thunderstorms in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, the Potohar region, upper and central Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, northeastern Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir from Wednesday evening through the next two days. Additionally, gusty winds with dust-raising potential are likely in the country's plains during the evening and night hours.
On Thursday, Islamabad's maximum temperatures are expected to range between 36 and 38 °C, followed by 35 and 37 °C on Friday.
Rawalpindi's maximum temperatures are expected to range between 35 and 37 °C on both Thursday and Friday.
In contrast, rain, wind, and thunderstorms were experienced in the twin cities and at isolated locations in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, the Pothohar region, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir. Meanwhile, hot and dry weather persisted in other parts of the country.

Sibi recorded the highest temperature in the country at 47 °C. Gujranwala reached 46 °C, while Jacobabad, Mohenjo-Daro, Shaheed Benazirabad, Bahawalnagar, Bhakkar, and Dadu experienced temperatures of 45 °C. Dera Ismail Khan, Noorpur Thal, Kasur, and Khairpur recorded temperatures of 44°C.
The highest temperature recorded in Islamabad was 37°C, with an evening relative humidity of 68%.
Rawalpindi recorded a maximum temperature of 36 °C with an evening relative humidity of 64%.
