According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a westerly wave is anticipated to enter western parts of Pakistan by Wednesday night, gradually impacting most upper and central parts of the country by Friday.
Under the influence of this weather system, intermittent rains are expected in twin cities and across many parts of Pakistan, starting Wednesday evening and continuing over the next two days.
The heavy rainfall forecast has raised concerns about potential flash floods in local nullahs and streams in Balochistan on the 26th and 27th of April, as well as in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir on the 27th and 28th of April. Landslides are also a possibility in Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Murree, Galyat, Kashmir, and Gilgit Baltistan from the 27th to the 29th of April. Additionally, windstorms, hailstorms, and lightning may pose risks to human life, standing crops, and structures like electric poles and solar panels during this period. Farmers are advised to take precautions and manage their crops accordingly. Tourists are also advised to avoid unnecessary travel, especially from the 26th to the 29th of April. Temperatures are expected to drop during this wet spell.
In terms of temperatures, Islamabad is projected to see maximum temperatures ranging between 31 and 33 degrees Celsius on Thursday and 28 and 30 degrees Celsius on Friday. Similarly, Rawalpindi is expected to experience maximum temperatures between 30 and 32 degrees Celsius on Thursday and 28 and 30 degrees Celsius on Friday.
Over the past 24 hours, dry weather has predominated in most parts of the country, with hot conditions in the southern regions. However, isolated rain, wind, and thunderstorms were reported in Kashmir, northeast Punjab, and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

In Islamabad, the maximum temperature reached 32 degrees Celsius, with morning relative humidity at 52 percent. Rawalpindi recorded a maximum temperature of 30 degrees Celsius, with morning relative humidity at 43 percent.
