Islamabad: Amir Awan, a prominent businessman and owner of Toyota Motors Islamabad, was killed inside his Margalla Town farmhouse after armed attackers stormed the property on March 30. According to police, the assailants fled immediately after the shooting, leaving officers to secure the scene and call in forensic teams.
Investigators are reviewing CCTV footage that allegedly captured the suspects entering the residence. Initial reports suggest that five men armed with Kalashnikov rifles carried out the attack.
Police have taken several individuals into custody, recovered weapons during searches, and recorded statements from Awan’s wife and the security staff on duty that night. The guard responsible for security is also being questioned.

In the FIR lodged by Ayesha Awan, she stated that she and her husband were asleep in their bedroom while their sons slept in separate rooms.
At around 2:45 a.m., she woke to the sound of a struggle and saw three armed men confronting her husband, with two more standing outside a window. When she raised an alarm, the intruders opened fire, hitting Amir Awan in the abdomen.
Upon hearing the commotion, the couple’s sons rushed to the bedroom, prompting the assailants to flee through a window. Outside, security guards Arman and Dawar attempted to intervene but were overpowered; the attackers also seized their weapons, cash, and mobile phones. Two other guards, Kaleemullah and Dawood, were locked in a room, and their belongings were stolen as well.
Ayesha Awan described the suspects as young, well-built men with wheatish complexions, noting that she, her children, and the security personnel would be able to identify them if shown by the authorities.
Amir Awan was taken to PIMS Hospital and treated in the emergency ward but later succumbed to his injuries before giving a statement.
The police have registered a case under Section 397 of the Pakistan Penal Code, covering robbery or dacoity involving deadly weapons or severe violence, and the investigation into the murder is ongoing.
Interior Minister vows to arrest the suspects:
Interior Minister of State Talal Chaudhry has assured that the suspects will be brought to justice soon.
He noted that all individuals accused in previous murder and robbery cases in Islamabad have been arrested and expressed confidence that those responsible for the current incident will also be apprehended.
