LAHORE: The National Highway Authority (NHA) has increased toll charges on the Lahore, Islamabad Motorway (M-2) have been increased by 7%, with new rates effective from July 5 and remaining in place until April 2027, according to officials.
The adjustment has been made under a concession agreement between the National Highway Authority (NHA) and Motorway Operations and Rehabilitation Engineering, a subsidiary of the Frontier Works Organization (FWO).

Under the revised structure, cars, jeeps and taxis will now pay Rs1,430. Wagons will be charged Rs2,390, coasters Rs3,350, and buses Rs4,770. Heavy vehicles have also seen increases, with trucks paying Rs6,180, articulated trucks Rs7,990, and large trucks Rs10,290.

Toll charges per kilometer rates have also been updated across all vehicle categories. Officials say the revision is part of routine adjustments meant to support maintenance, upgrades, and smoother traffic flow on one of the country’s busiest highways.
In a separate incident, two women were injured after a car plunged into a ravine from Dhantar Bridge on the Murree Expressway on Sunday.
Rescue officials said the vehicle lost control and fell into a deep gorge. The injured passengers were shifted for medical treatment.
