TEHRAN: A convoy carrying Pakistani students stranded in Iran due to escalating tensions between Israel and Iran has departed from Tehran towards the Taftan border.
According to diplomatic sources, six buses have been dispatched to facilitate the safe return of the students, with border passage expected to remain open after 4 PM today.
On Sunday, 180 Pakistani nationals successfully crossed the border, including 168 pilgrims and 12 traders.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to Iran, Mudassir Tipu, stated that the embassy in Iran is actively working to provide all possible assistance to Pakistani citizens.
He shared the contact numbers and email addresses of the Embassy in Tehran, Consulates in Mashhad and Zahedan, and the special unit at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad via social media to assist stranded Pakistanis.
Amid growing regional tensions following Israeli strikes, both border crossing points connecting Iran with Pakistan’s Panjgur district have been closed indefinitely.
Additionally, all air travel between Pakistan and Iran has been suspended.
The Ministry of Interior has advised Pakistani citizens to avoid traveling to Iran until further notice.
