Zimbabwe set a monumental total of 344/4, the highest score ever in a T20 international, surpassing Nepal’s previous record of 314/3 against Mongolia in 2023.
The innings saw an incredible display of power-hitting, with Zimbabwe smashing a record 27 sixes, surpassing Nepal’s previous mark of 26 sixes against Mongolia. Zimbabwe also matched the record for the most fours in a T20I innings, hitting 30 boundaries, equaling Sri Lanka’s 2007 performance against Kenya.
The team accumulated 282 runs from boundaries, setting a new record that outstripped the previous high of 216 set by Punjab in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. In T20Is, the previous boundary record stood at 212 runs, also achieved by Nepal against Mongolia.
Zimbabwe’s run-rate of 17.20 in the completed innings became the highest ever, overtaking Nepal’s 15.7 runs per over, also against Mongolia.
Star all-rounder Sikandar Raza played a key role in Zimbabwe’s remarkable performance, scoring an unbeaten 133 off 43 balls. Raza’s blistering century came in just 33 balls, tying him for the second-fastest T20I century with Namibia’s Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton. The fastest T20I century, at 27 balls, is held by Estonia’s Sahil Chauhan.
In response, Gambia was bowled out for just 54 runs, cementing Zimbabwe’s historic 290-run victory, the largest win by runs in T20 internationals, surpassing Nepal’s previous record of a 273-run win over Mongolia.
