The Punjab School Education Department has officially extended the summer vacation for all public and private schools in the province. A notification issued on August 7, 2025, states that the holidays will now continue from August 14 to August 31, and schools will reopen on Monday, September 1, 2025.
This decision was approved by the Competent Authority and follows an earlier notification issued on May 20, 2025. The extension applies to all schools under the School Education Department.
The notification also directs all Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of District Education Authorities (DEAs) to strictly follow the new schedule.
This official announcement comes a day after the department denied a fake notification that was spreading online, which had falsely claimed an extension of the summer break.
At that time, the department clarified that no such decision had been made and that only official channels should be trusted for updates.

Now, with the new notification, all confusion has been cleared, and it is confirmed that the summer holidays will continue until the end of August. Schools will start regular classes from September 1.
