Previously, schools in Punjab closed on May 25, following the provincial government's declaration of seven extra holidays due to increasing temperatures. Initially, summer holidays for all private and public schools were scheduled to begin on June 1, 2024, and end on August 14, 2024. According to the Punjab Education Department, all schools are expected to reopen on August 15.

Currently, there is no update on extending summer holidays in Punjab. The provincial government may review the schedule if there are uncertainties in the prevailing weather conditions.
Sindh extends summer vacations 2024
The Sindh government has extended summer vacations for all public and private schools across the province by 14 days due to severe weather conditions.
According to a notification from the Sindh Education Department, all schools will remain closed until August 14 and will reopen on August 15.
The department cited extreme heat, a potential heatwave, and the monsoon season as reasons for the extension.
