President of UAE Concludes Visit to Pakistan, Departs for Home

President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has concluded his official visit to Pakistan and departed for his homeland. This visit marked Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed’s first official trip to Pakistan after assuming the office of President.

Earlier today, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed arrived in Islamabad on an official visit, where Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif accorded him a warm and ceremonial welcome at Noor Khan Air Base. Upon entering Pakistan’s airspace, the UAE President’s aircraft was escorted by Pakistan Air Force JF-17 fighter jets, reflecting the close and friendly ties between the two countries.

According to the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed held a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, during which both leaders discussed all aspects of Pakistan-UAE relations, as well as regional and global developments.

The spokesperson stated that the visit was made at the invitation of President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif. The discussions focused on further strengthening the long-standing fraternal ties between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates, with special emphasis on trade, investment, energy, development cooperation, and economic partnerships.

It was further shared that Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan was accompanied by a high-level delegation comprising ministers and senior officials, highlighting the importance both countries attach to bilateral cooperation.

Ahead of the visit, extensive arrangements were made in the federal capital. Islamabad was decorated with national flags of both countries and welcome banners, underscoring the significance of the UAE President’s arrival.

The visit is expected to play a key role in deepening bilateral cooperation and enhancing collaboration in various sectors, reaffirming the strong historical, political, and economic relations between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates.
