ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif says Pakistan stands in solidarity with the global community, reiterating its strong commitment to enhancing the national response to HIV.

In his message on World AIDS Day, the Prime Minister highlighted the importance of upholding the United Nations Declaration on Human Rights and ensuring the inclusion of all communities to eliminate AIDS as a public health threat. He called healthcare a fundamental right that must be provided equitably through collective efforts.

Shehbaz Sharif noted the growing HIV epidemic in Pakistan, stressing the need for bold and sustainable interventions. He urged decisive and compassionate action to support those most affected by the disease.

The Prime Minister also reaffirmed the country’s dedication to working with the global community to achieve a future free from AIDS. He emphasized the principles of dignity, equity, and inclusion as key to overcoming the epidemic.

World AIDS Day serves as a reminder of the ongoing battle against HIV and the importance of collective action to ensure a healthier and more equitable future for all.

Earlier, PM Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif expressed deepest sympathies on behalf of the Pakistani people for the brotherly people of Malaysia over the loss of lives and property caused by recent floods due to torrential rains in several states of the country.

The prime minister in his telephonic conversation with his Malaysian counterpart Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim, assured that the people of Pakistan stood in solidarity with their Malaysian brothers and sisters during this challenging time.

He also appreciated the swift and effective measures taken by the Malaysian government to address this natural calamity.

The prime minister offered all possible assistance to Malaysia and announced the immediate dispatch of humanitarian aid as a gesture of Pakistan’s support for its Malaysian brothers and sisters.

Referring to Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s recent visit to Pakistan in October this year, PM Shehbaz expressed satisfaction with the positive momentum in bilateral relations and reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.
