More monsoon rains are forecasted for parts of Pakistan from July 16 to July 21, with occasional breaks in between.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), moderate monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea are expected to enter Pakistan starting July 16.
As a result of this weather system, monsoon rains are anticipated in Pakistan throughout the week.
Kashmir: Rain wind/thunderstorms are expected in Kashmir (Neelum Valley, Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Poonch, Hattian, Bagh, Haveli, Sudhanoti, Kotli, Bhimber, Mirpur) from 16th (evening/night) to 21st July with occasional gaps.
Punjab/Islamabad: Rain, wind, and thunderstorms are expected in Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Murree, Galyat, Attock, Chakwal, Talagang, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Wazirabad, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Narowal, Sahiwal, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Nankana Sahib, Chiniot, Faisalabad, Okara, Pakpattan, Kasur, Khushab, Sargodha, Bhakkar, and Mianwali from July 17 to 20, with occasional breaks.
Rain-wind/thunderstorms are expected in Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, Khanewal, Lodhran, Muzaffargarh, Kot Addu, Rajanpur, Rahimyar Khan and Layyah from 17th to 19th July.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Rain-wind/thunderstorms are expected in Dir, Chitral, Swat, Kohistan, Malakand, Bajaur, Shangla, Battagram, Buner, Kohat, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Peshawar, Mardan, Charsadda, Hangu, Kurram, Waziristan, Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan from 16th (evening/night) to 21st July with occasional gaps.
Balochistan: Mainly hot and humid weather is expected in most districts of the province. Rain- wind/thunderstorms are expected in north/eastern Balochistan (Khuzdar, Kalat, Lasbella, Awaran, Ziarat, Zhob, Barkhan, Musa Khel, Shirani, Kohlu, Harnai, Naseerabad and Jaffarabad) from 17th to 19th July with occasional gaps.
Sindh: Mainly hot and very humid weather is expected in most districts of the province. Rain-wind/thunderstorms are expected in Mithi, Sanghar, Umarkot, Tharparkar, Mirpur Khas, Badin, Sajawal, Thatta, Karachi, Hyderabad, Jacobabad, Sukkur, Shikarpur, Qamber Shahdadkot, Larkana, Dadu and Padidan on 18th & 19th July with occasional gaps.
Gilgit-Baltistan: Mainly partly cloudy to cloudy weather conditions at time are expected in Gilgit-Baltistan. However, rainfall activity is expected in Diamir, Astore, Skardu, Gilgit, Ghanche and Shigar from 17th to 21st July with occasional gaps.

Heavy rainfall may increase water levels in local nullahs and streams in Murree, Galyat, Manshera, Kohistan, and Kashmir from July 17 to 19. Additionally, heavy rain could lead to urban flooding in low-lying areas of Punjab and lower Sindh on July 18 and 19. Landslides may disrupt traffic in the hilly regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Murree, Galyat, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan during this period.Downpours, windstorms, and lightning could affect daily routines and pose risks to weak structures such as electric poles, billboards, and solar panels. Farmers are advised to plan their activities considering the weather forecast. Travelers and tourists should exercise extra caution and plan their trips according to the weather conditions to avoid any adverse situations during the wet spell.
