ISLAMABAD: Senator Faisal Vawda has made a bold statement, claiming that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is on the verge of forming a forward bloc, led by what he referred to as "subservient politicians," on Sunday. Speaking to the media, Vawda suggested that certain PTI members intentionally undermined the party by boycotting the vote on constitutional amendments, calling the move orchestrated and stating that the public deserves to know the truth.
Vawda further claimed that if the opposition had participated, they would have voted against the amendments. He hinted that a shrewd politician will be the leader of this PTI forward bloc.
Earlier, Vawda had hinted at developments related to the 26th constitutional amendment through a post on X (formerly Twitter), where he said, “Anyone who wants to join is welcome; otherwise, there are more than enough numbers. Inshallah, today after the amendment we will cut the cake.” He also stressed that the amendment would pass regardless of the opposition's stance, stating, "Whether anyone shows up or not," while also emphasizing that there would be no solution for those involved in bribery or intimidation.
In his earlier remarks, Vawda criticized key figures within PTI, labeling them as "Bukau Mall" (sellouts) and accusing them of enjoying their positions while PTI’s founder remains in jail.
He expressed frustration that PTI had acknowledged the current government and even requested a meeting with its jailed leader.
