Sindh continues to reel under intense heat and humidity, with no immediate relief in sight, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD). The persistent high temperatures and moisture-laden air have made conditions increasingly uncomfortable across the province.
In stark contrast, widespread rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning is forecast for several other regions of the country today.
Islamabad and its surrounding areas are expected to experience thunderstorms, while in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, partly cloudy conditions will prevail, with showers likely in Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Malakand, Bajaur, and Shangla.
In Punjab, hot and humid weather will dominate most areas. However, rainfall is anticipated in Murree, Galyat, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Attock, Chakwal, and Gujrat.
Rain is also expected in parts of Balochistan, including Musakhel, Barkhan, Khuzdar, Zhob, and Kalat. Meanwhile, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan are likely to witness thunderstorms and scattered rainfall.
Flood Situation Worsens in Sindh
The flood situation remains serious in Sindh as the Sukkur Barrage faces a high-level flood, and the River Indus is flowing at a medium-level flood stage.
