ISLAMABAD: Following the recent Israeli airstrikes on Iran, Pakistan has taken steps to ensure the safety of its citizens, particularly pilgrims currently in Iran.
Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar stated that the government is actively working to protect Pakistani pilgrims.
A Crisis Management Unit has been established at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to provide assistance and coordinate efforts for the safety and support of Pakistani nationals in Iran.
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has announced that Pakistan has established a 24-hour Crisis Management Unit at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to assist Pakistani pilgrims in Iran following the recent Israeli airstrikes.
He further directed the Pakistani Embassy in Tehran to actively support and facilitate the Pakistani community and pilgrims during this critical time.
Dar added that Pakistanis in Iran can contact the embassy directly at +98 21 66941388 for assistance and updates.
Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has strongly condemned the recent Israeli airstrikes on Iran, expressing deep concern over the potential for further regional instability.
In his statement, the Prime Minister extended solidarity with the Iranian people, acknowledging the losses caused by the attacks. He warned that the already volatile region risks becoming even more destabilized.
“The international community and the United Nations must act immediately to prevent further escalation,” said PM Sharif, adding that worsening tensions could pose a serious threat to regional and global peace.
