United Nations: Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations (UN) Ambassador Asim Iftikhar stated that Iran has the right to self-defense under the UN Charter.
Speaking during a United Nations Security Council session convened to address the recent Israeli attack on Iran, Ambassador Asim Iftikhar condemned the strike, calling it a blatant violation of Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
“Pakistan strongly condemns the illegal Israeli aggression against Iran,” he said. “Under Article 51 of the UN Charter, every state has the inherent right to defend itself. Iran is no exception.”
He emphasized that such acts of aggression undermine regional stability and breach international law.
Ambassador Asim Iftikhar, has warned that Israeli attacks pose a grave threat to peace, security, and regional stability. He noted that Israel’s repeated violations of sovereignty are becoming a dangerous norm.
Meanwhile, Iran launched a large-scale retaliatory strike against Israel, named Operation True Promise III (“Wada-e-Sadiq 3”). The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) reported that more than 150 missiles were fired in three successive waves over the span of an hour.
According to Iranian sources, the first wave included 100 missiles, followed by 50 in the second, and approximately 50 more in the final barrage.
The IRGC claimed that over 150 Israeli targets were hit, and explosions rocked the Israeli capital during the assault.
