Buner/Shangla/Swat: In response to the devastating floods across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Pakistan Army and Frontier Corps North have intensified their relief and rescue operations in the worst-hit areas, including Buner, Shangla, and Swat.
Additional contingents of the Pakistan Army arrived in the flood-affected regions last night and have assumed operational control to support local authorities and affected communities. Specialized teams from the Corps of Engineers, equipped with heavy machinery, are also actively working to restore access routes and assist in rescue efforts.
Despite challenging weather conditions, Army aviation helicopters remain engaged in critical rescue missions, airlifting stranded individuals and delivering essential supplies to remote and inaccessible areas.
Following the directive of the Chief of Army Staff, one day’s ration per family is being distributed to those impacted by the floods. Pakistan Army doctors have established medical camps in the affected zones, offering free medical care and distributing essential medicines.
In Churak village of Buner district, Army personnel are conducting rescue operations to evacuate residents from high-risk areas. Meanwhile, recovery efforts continue in Adam Khel, where teams are working around the clock to rescue individuals trapped under the rubble of collapsed homes.
Essential supplies—including food, clean drinking water, and bedding—have been provided to displaced families, ensuring their immediate needs are met. Relief operations are ongoing and will continue until all affected individuals are safely relocated to secure locations.
Local residents have expressed deep gratitude for the timely and effective response by the Pakistan Army. Many have lauded the efforts of the troops, praising their unwavering dedication in this time of crisis.
