Rawalpindi: Field Marshal Asim Munir undertook an official visit to the United States, during which he held important meetings with senior American political and military leaders, according to a statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
During the visit, Field Marshal Munir met with the leadership of the Pakistani-American community, engaging in interactive sessions to discuss Pakistan’s future and diaspora contributions.
He also attended the retirement ceremony of U.S. CENTCOM Commander General Michael Kurilla in Tampa and was present at the change of command ceremony where Admiral Brad Cooper assumed command.
Field Marshal Munir lauded General Kurilla’s contributions to strengthening bilateral military cooperation and expressed his best wishes to Admiral Cooper, expressing confidence in continued collaboration to tackle mutual security challenges.
Additionally, Field Marshal Munir met with General Charles Q. Brown, Chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, where both sides discussed matters of mutual professional interest. The Army Chief also extended an invitation to General Brown to visit Pakistan.
According to ISPR, Field Marshal Munir also held meetings with defense chiefs from other allied nations. During his interaction with the Pakistani-American community, he encouraged members to remain optimistic about Pakistan’s bright future and to actively participate in promoting investment and development in the country.
