At least seven Indian-sponsored terrorists were killed in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) carried out by Pakistan’s security forces in the Sherani district of Balochistan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement issued Friday.
According to the military’s media wing, the operation was launched on October 1 following confirmed reports of the presence of militants linked to the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), also referred to as "Fitna al Khwarij"—allegedly acting as an Indian proxy group.
“During the operation, security forces effectively engaged the terrorists’ hideout. After an intense exchange of fire, seven Indian-sponsored terrorists were eliminated,” ISPR reported.
The operation also resulted in the recovery of a cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives from the site. The militants were said to be involved in multiple terrorist activities across the region.
A sanitization operation is currently underway in the area to ensure the presence of no remaining hostile elements.
The ISPR reaffirmed Pakistan's commitment to eradicating terrorism from the country, particularly threats backed by external actors. "Pakistan’s security forces remain resolute in their mission to eliminate Indian-sponsored terrorism and bring all perpetrators to justice,” the statement concluded.
