ISLAMABAD: The federal government approved the deployment of Civil Armed Forces(CAF) and Pakistan Army troops in the by-elections.
After the approval of the Federal Government, the Federal Ministry of Interior issued orders to deploy Civil Armed Forces and Pakistan Army troops.
According to the announcement, Civil Armed Forces and Pakistan Army troops will be used as quick response force. The Civil Armed Forces and Pakistan Army troops will be used as second and third tiers of security.
The announcement said that Civil Armed Forces and Pakistan Army troops will be available in 21 constituencies from today till April 22.
It should be remembered that the by-elections in 21 constituencies of the National and Provincial Assembly across the country are going to be held tomorrow, Sunday, April 21.
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had requested the federal government to provide security in the by-elections.

On the other hand, , the Punjab government requested the interior ministry to suspend mobile internet services in the province's 13 districts and tehsils on April 21 (tomorrow) owing to the by-elections .
The request has been made to maintain law and order situation in the province and avoid any untoward incident.
In a letter to the interior ministry, the provincial home department requested the suspension.
