Heatwaves are expected to persist in most districts of Sindh on Wednesday and Thursday, with some relief anticipated from gusty afternoon winds. According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, a shallow westerly wave will impact the upper parts of the country tonight, maintaining the heatwave conditions in Sindh over the next two days.
Karachi and other coastal areas are likely to experience hot and humid weather, with the possibility of gusty winds in the afternoon providing temporary relief. Maximum temperatures in Karachi are forecasted to range between 37-39°C on Wednesday and 36-38°C on Thursday, while in Hyderabad, temperatures are expected to be between 47-49°C on Wednesday and 46-48°C on Thursday.
Over the past 24 hours, heatwaves prevailed in most districts of Sindh, with Jacobabad recording the highest temperature at 52°C, followed by Dadu, Larkana, and Mohenjo-Daro at 51°C, and several other cities at 50-49°C. In Karachi, the maximum temperature reached 38°C with an evening relative humidity of 55%, while in Hyderabad, temperatures peaked at 46°C with an evening relative humidity of 26%.
