Actress and model Humaira Asghar tragically passed away in Karachi at the age of 32. She rose to fame after appearing as a contestant on Tamasha Season 1 and went on to act in several dramas while modeling for various well-known brands. Her sudden death shocked the entire country, as she appeared perfectly healthy and full of life.
Police revealed that Humaira Asghar Ali had rented an apartment in DHA Phase 6, Karachi, in 2018 and had been living there since. She reportedly stopped paying rent in 2024, prompting her landlord to file a lawsuit for non-payment. A court-appointed bailiff arrived at the apartment to enforce the eviction and discovered her decomposed body yesterday. Police confirmed that Humaira had been dead for at least a month. The body was in a decayed state, and maggots had infested the apartment. Authorities also recovered her phone from the scene, but its battery was dead. They found no suspicious items at the location.
Humaira Asghar’s neighbours revealed that she kept to herself and rarely interacted with anyone in the building. They hadn’t seen her outside her apartment for several months. Police have sent her body for forensic examination and forwarded her phone for analysis as well. According to Express News, police contacted her father in Lahore, but he refused to claim her body, stating that he had cut ties with her two years ago.
Police have asked Humaira Asghar’s family to register a case regarding her death. If the family does not come forward, police will file the case themselves. A Chhipa volunteer who recovered the body spoke to the media, revealing that Humaira’s body was completely decayed and unidentifiable. Authorities will conduct a DNA test to confirm her identity and match it with her family. The rescue worker also shared that no one in the building noticed any foul smell, as very few residents lived there. Police found magazines and photo albums belonging to Humaira, which helped them identify her.

Autopsy Report:
Police Surgeon Dr. Summaiya Syed confirmed that the body was in an advanced stage of decomposition, which made it difficult to determine the exact cause of death.“We have conducted the initial examination. Due to the advanced decomposition, we cannot currently ascertain the cause of death,” she stated.
Dr. Summaiya also said that they have collected tissue samples for DNA testing and chemical analysis.
“We have reserved the actual cause of death after preserving samples for DNA and chemical examination. Only after these tests are completed will we be able to determine the actual cause of death.”
The police surgeon further emphasized that investigators cannot draw conclusions about the cause of death or potential drug use at this stage. She stated that the results from the chemical examination will offer more clarity in the coming days.
