The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has intensified the race for the league's expansion, officially naming VGO TEL Mobile as the third contender for two new PSL franchises ahead of the 11th edition.
Announcing via its official social media channels, the PCB stated: “The excitement is building. VGO TEL Mobile confirmed as Bidder [No.3] for the HBL PSL Teams Auction.”

The high-stakes auction is slated for Thursday at the Jinnah Convention Centre in Islamabad, with the 2026 PSL scheduled to light up stadiums from March 26 to May 3.
As the league grows from six to eight teams, cricket fans are bracing for a dramatic shake-up in the competition’s power dynamics.
Among the frontrunners is the Tareen Group, led by Ali Khan Tareen, the former owner of Multan Sultans, who transformed the franchise into a powerhouse. Under Tareen, the Sultans clinched the PSL title in 2021 and consistently dominated playoffs.
However, disagreements over governance and contract renewals led to Tareen’s departure in late 2025 only to now re-enter the fray for one of the new franchises, promising fireworks in the bidding war.
Karachi-based VGO TEL, led by CEO Naveed Gaba, has thrown its hat into the ring, signaling fierce competition. The entry of a corporate giant adds a fresh layer of intensity to the PSL auction, promising high-stakes maneuvering and strategic bids.
Winning bidders will have the coveted opportunity to select a home city from PCB-approved options, including Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Hyderabad, Sialkot, Muzaffarabad, and Gilgit.
This expansion not only broadens the PSL’s footprint but also promises fresh rivalries and electrifying fan engagement across the nation.
With the auction mere days away, the PSL is set to enter a new era of ambition, strategy, and fierce competition, fueling anticipation for what promises to be the most thrilling season yet.
