PCB chairman offers training for Saudi cricketers

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has offered to train Saudi Arabia’s cricket players to promote the sport in the Kingdom.

During his visit to Riyadh, Mohsin Naqvi met with Prince Saud bin Mishal Al Saud, Chairman of the Saudi Arabia Cricket Federation. The two leaders discussed strategies to develop cricket in Saudi Arabia and enhance player skills.

Naqvi extended an invitation to Prince Saud to visit Pakistan and attend matches of the Champions Trophy tournament. He also assured full cooperation in promoting cricket and building cricket stadiums in Saudi Arabia.

Highlighting potential collaboration, the PCB Chairman proposed a player exchange program to support cricket development. “Saudi Arabia can send its emerging players to Pakistan for training,” said Naqvi. He reiterated Pakistan’s willingness to provide comprehensive support for cricket development and infrastructure.

Describing Saudi Arabia as a "second home for every Pakistani," Naqvi expressed enthusiasm about fostering strong cricketing ties with the Kingdom.

Prince Saud praised the idea, stating that Saudi Arabia is actively working on player development and currently has around 18,000 cricketers. He also highlighted Saudi Arabia's achievement of winning the Asian Cricket Council’s Challenge Cup.

Prince Saud emphasized the importance of close collaboration with Pakistan to boost cricket in the region and expressed a strong commitment to working together for mutual growth in the sport.

This initiative marks a step forward in strengthening cricketing relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, promoting the game in new territories.
