KARACHI: The year 2025 proved to be highly successful for Pakistan men’s and pathways cricket, with the national teams delivering notable performances at international, regional, and development levels.
Last year, Pakistan played 56 international matches, winning 30 of them. The most significant achievement was hosting the ICC Champions Trophy after 29 years, showcasing Pakistan’s ability to host major global cricket events once again.

In addition, Pakistan successfully hosted tri-nation ODI and T20I series involving teams from New Zealand, South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Sri Lanka, further enhancing the country’s positive image in world cricket.
In T20 cricket, Pakistan played a record 34 matches in 2025, winning 21. Under the leadership of Salman Ali Agha, Pakistan won T20 series against Bangladesh, West Indies, and South Africa, as well as two tri-series titles against Afghanistan, UAE, Zimbabwe, and Sri Lanka.
Individually, Sahibzada Farhan scored 771 runs in T20Is, while Mohammad Nawaz took 36 wickets. Young fast bowler Usman Tariq impressed everyone by taking a T20I hat-trick early in his career.
In ODIs, Pakistan won series against South Africa and Sri Lanka, while in Tests, home series against West Indies and South Africa ended in draws. Shan Masood scored 397 runs in the Test format.
In development and pathways cricket, Pakistan achieved remarkable success as well. Pakistan Shaheens won the Rising Stars Emerging Asia Cup, while the Pakistan Under-19 team defeated India in the final to claim the Under-19 Asia Cup. Pakistan also lifted the Hong Kong Super Sixes Tournament trophy.
Selector Aaqib Javed stated that playing more T20Is has strengthened Pakistan’s bench depth, expressing satisfaction with the overall team performance.
Overall, 2025 proved to be a year of confidence, stability, and hope for the future of Pakistan cricket.
