Bangladesh Cricket Board defies India for T20 World Cup matches

Bangladesh requests ICC to relocate World Cup matches

In a decisive move over the release of a fast bowler from the IPL, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has opted not to send its team to India for the T20 World Cup.

According to PCB sources, the BCB will inform the government of its decision. Following consultations, the government will issue an official statement, and the BCB will also update the ICC about the matter along with the government’s directive.

Sources suggest that the BCB may request its T20 World Cup matches to be relocated to Sri Lanka, as currently, Bangladesh’s matches are scheduled in India three in Kolkata and one in Mumbai.

Squad Announcement:

Bangladesh has revealed its squad for the ICC T20 World Cup.

Liton Kumar Das has been appointed captain, with Saif Hassan as vice-captain. Bangladesh will compete in a group alongside England, West Indies, Nepal, and Italy.

The team’s campaign will kick off on February 7 in Kolkata against West Indies.
