Mathira began her career at the age of 16, facing a difficult life and taking on various jobs to make ends meet. She started hosting live television shows, enduring significant harassment despite not knowing the language. As a single mother, Mathira has single-handedly raised her three sons. After her divorce, she moved on and consistently tried to instill a positive mindset in her children. On Madeha Naqvi’s show, she spoke about the pressures and traumas society imposed on her while navigating life as a single mom.

She shared that “when you are a single mom then you have responsibilities of a father too. Navigating life in that way makes a woman more masculine and then people start calling them names. She has been through it. She also disclosed that she went through depression after her third baby and people never took it seriously and thought it was nothing.”
