Today, the stunning host appeared on Madeha Naqvi’s morning show “Subh Ka Samaa”. During the show, Mathira revealed that she has a neurodevelopmental disorder, discussing her struggles with ADHD and sharing details about her treatment.
Talking about her disorder, Mathira said, “I came to know about ADHD (Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder) when I was an adult. At that time, when you try to seek medical help for your mental condition, I was told by my doctor that I was suffering from ADHD. I was prescribed medication, which I used for quite some time but discontinued it because I didn’t want to be dependent on medicine. You have to heal yourself, so I learned how to manage it on my own. I sought a lot of information about ADHD; it is not an abnormality or a severe disease, and you should not be shy to seek medical help. It can be managed wisely. Children with cognitive and mental disorders suffer the most because parents unknowingly put pressure on them regarding their studies. It should be handled carefully. Parents should learn how to channel their children’s energy, rather than letting it turn negative”
