New Urgent Passport Fee Structure
Starting May 2024, the new fees for urgent category passports are as follows:- 5-year Standard Passport (36 pages): The urgent fee has increased from Rs5,000 to Rs7,500.
- 10-year Standard Passport (36 pages): The urgent fee is now Rs11,200.
- 5-year Large Passport (72 pages): The urgent fee is Rs13,500.
- 10-year Large Passport (100 pages): The urgent fee is Rs20,200.
Processing Time
The Directorate General of Immigration and Passports assures that urgent category passports will be processed within five working days.However, recent reports from regional offices indicate a processing time of 15 days, causing concern among applicants, some of whom report processing times exceeding 21 days.
