RAWALPINDI: Pakistani security forces thwarted terrorist threats by killing nine Indian-backed militants in separate actions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), on reported presence of khwarij, an intelligence based operation was conducted by the security forces in Tank District.
During the conduct of operation, our troops effectively engaged the khwarij location and after an intense fire exchange, seven khwarij were sent to hell.
Another intelligence based operation was conducted in Lakki Marwat District. In ensuing fire exchange, two more khwarij were effectively neutralised by the security forces.
The weapons and ammunition were also recovered from killed Indian sponsored khwarij, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities against the Security Forces, Law Enforcement agencies and target killing of innocent civilians.
Sanitization operations are being conducted to eliminate any other Indian sponsored kharji found in the area as relentless Counter Terrorism campaign under vision “Azm e Istehkam” (as approved by Federal Apex Committee on National Action Plan) by Security Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies of Pakistan will continue at full pace to wipe out menace of foreign sponsored and supported terrorism from the country.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif lauded the security forces for their timely actions and professionalism.
They praised the forces for thwarting the terrorists’ plans and reaffirmed their commitment to supporting peace and stability in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The Prime Minister commended the troops for terminating 9 (nine) Fitnat-ul-Khawarij terrorists in these counter terrorism operations.
The Prime Minister said that the armed forces’ successes in such operations are essential to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan’s resolve to establish order & protect Pakistanis from all threats.
The Prime Minister reiterated his pride in the serving men & women of the forces & said that the entire nation stands with them in this war against terrorism.
He said that the government & people are single minded in our resolve to completely eradicate all forms of terrorism that targets the Pakistani people, territory & republic.
