E-Bus Service in Lahore

Provincial Transport Minister Bilal Akbar Khan shared details of the pilot project, highlighting that the e-buses have modern facilities such as GPS tracking, Wi-Fi, USB ports, and a seating capacity of 30 passengers, accommodating up to 80 in total. Special ramps and designated seats have been included for differently abled passengers, along with an anti-slip floor for safety.

Key Features and Benefits

  • Route display system for easy navigation
  • Dedicated section for women ensuring safety
  • CCTV cameras to prevent harassment
  • Real-time tracking via a mobile app
  • Digital payments through wallets and transport cards
The e-buses will operate on Lahore’s longest 21-km route, covering areas like Railway Station, Mozang, Ferozepur Road, and Campus Bridge, serving an estimated 17,000 passengers daily.

The official launch is mid-February, introducing 27 electric buses and 42 modern bus shelters. Additionally, nine charging stations have been established at Green Town Hamdard Chowk, ensuring each bus can cover up to 250 km on a full charge.
