ISLAMABAD: On the instructions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Pakistan has sent humanitarian aid for Gaza, which has now reached El-Arish International Airport in Egypt.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to Egypt, Aamir Shouket, received the aid and thanked Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and officials for their support in transferring the supplies to Gaza. The Deputy Governor of North Sinai, General Asim, was also present at the ceremony and praised Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to help the people of Gaza.
Ambassador Shouket said that Pakistan stands firmly with its Palestinian brothers and sisters, adding that more relief supplies are already on their way.
So far, Pakistan has sent 21 aid consignments—over 2,000 tons of essential goods—through Egypt. The latest shipment, sent from Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport, carried 100 tons of food and supplies. These include flour, ready-to-eat meals, edible oil, jam, and fruit cocktails.
The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and Al-Khidmat Foundation are carrying out the aid effort, while the Egyptian Red Crescent Society received the supplies for delivery inside Gaza.
Gaza is facing severe shortages of food, medicine, and shelter due to Israel’s ongoing aggression, which has displaced thousands and destroyed much of the local infrastructure. Pakistan’s continued support highlights its solidarity with Palestinians and commitment to helping them in this difficult time.
