In response to alleged unprovoked cross-border aggression by the Afghan Taliban along the Pakistan-Afghanistan frontier, Pakistan’s armed forces have escalated their decisive counteroffensive under “Operation Ghazab-Lil-Haq.”
Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar has released updated statistics regarding Operation Ghazab-Lil-Haq, providing details on the ongoing military efforts against Afghan Taliban positions.Key Highlights from the Operation
Afghan Taliban casualties: 352 killed and over 535 injured, check posts destroyed: 130, with 26 posts captured by Pakistani forces, armored vehicles neutralized: 171 tanks and armored personnel carriers destroyed and effective operations conducted at 41 locations within Afghanistan.
The Information Minister emphasized that the operation continues as part of Pakistan’s counter-terrorism measures, aimed at eliminating militant strongholds and restoring stability in the affected regions.
Security sources confirmed that operations are being conducted simultaneously on multiple fronts, with a focus on strategic objectives, and will continue until complete neutralization of hostile elements.
The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) carried out surgical strikes on brigade and battalion headquarters of the Afghan Taliban in Nangarhar province, ensuring that only military targets were engaged in strict compliance with international humanitarian law. Skirmishes have also been reported in the Zoiaba sector, highlighting continued ground confrontations.
In recent maneuvers, the Pakistani military obliterated the Afghan Gulf Post, targeted a hostile vehicle near the South Complex, and captured and demolished the New Afghan 8 post using explosives, forcing militant elements into retreat. Dozens of Taliban hideouts were systematically dismantled during the campaign.
Security officials emphasized that Pakistan’s armed forces remain fully vigilant on all fronts, ensuring the protection of national sovereignty and border integrity while closely monitoring evolving threats.
