Light rain forecast for Karachi, Sindh remains hot

KARACHI – Light rain and scattered showers are expected in Karachi and some other areas of Sindh on Wednesday night and Thursday, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

A seasonal low-pressure system is active over northeast Balochistan, while strong monsoon winds are entering the upper parts of the country. A fresh westerly weather system is also affecting northern areas.

Because of these conditions, Karachi and nearby coastal areas may receive light rain or drizzle by Wednesday evening or night, along with gusty winds in southeastern Sindh.

On Thursday, most parts of Sindh will experience hot and humid weather. However, rain is likely at isolated spots in Tharparkar, Umerkot, Mirpurkhas, and Sanghar during the evening or night.

Temperature Forecast:

Karachi: Maximum temperature is expected between 31°C and 33°C on Thursday, and 30°C to 32°C on Friday.

Hyderabad: Temperatures will stay between 36°C and 38°C on Thursday, and 35°C to 37°C on Friday.

In the last 24 hours, humid conditions prevailed across most districts of Sindh.

Dadu recorded the highest temperature in the province at 46°C, followed by Nawabshah at 43°C and Sukkur at 42°C.

In Karachi, the maximum temperature was 32°C, with 75% humidity recorded in the morning.

Hyderabad reached 37°C, with 74% morning humidity.

The PMD advises people to stay hydrated and take necessary precautions, especially in areas facing high heat and humidity.
