Widespread rainfall and strong winds are forecasted for Peshawar and various regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday night, Friday, and Saturday.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), powerful monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal are moving into the upper and central parts of Pakistan and are expected to impact southern regions starting from the evening/night of August 2. Additionally, a westerly wave is likely to influence the northern parts of the country beginning tomorrow.
These weather conditions are expected to bring intermittent rain, with heavy to very heavy downpours and gusty winds in areas including Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Malakand, Bajaur, Shangla, Batgram, Buner, Kohat, Mohmand, Khyber, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Haripur, Peshawar, Swabi, Nowshera, Mardan, Charsadda, Hangu, Kurram, Orakzai, Waziristan, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, and Dera Ismail Khan from Thursday night through the following two days.
The heavy rains could lead to flash flooding in local streams and nullahs in Mansehra, Kohistan, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Buner, Bannu, Kurram, Waziristan, Dera Ismail Khan, Orakzai, Khyber, Mohmand, Nowshera, and Swabi. Urban flooding is also a possibility in the low-lying areas of Nowshera and Peshawar. Landslides may disrupt traffic in the hilly areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during this wet spell.
Peshawar's maximum temperature is expected to range between 35-37°C on Friday and Saturday.
In the past 24 hours, rain accompanied by wind and thundershowers has already occurred in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Bannu remained the hottest place in the province where the maximum temperature was recorded at 40°C. The maximum temperature in Dera Ismail Khan was recorded at 37°C.
In Peshawar, maximum temperature was recorded at 36°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 78 per cent.
