A Ukrainian drone attack late Friday night caused a fire in Russia’s Kaluga region, south of Moscow. Social media videos showed an oil storage depot engulfed in flames.
Kaluga Governor Vladislav Shapsha confirmed on Telegram that the fire broke out at an industrial site in the city of Lyudinovo. Later, he reported that seven drones were intercepted, with one landing in a "non-residential area." The fire was eventually contained, and no casualties were reported.
Videos on unofficial Russian social media platforms showed firefighting vehicles rushing toward what appeared to be a massive blaze at the alleged oil depot.
Meanwhile, Russia’s Defence Ministry and the governor of the Bryansk region stated that air defence systems had destroyed nine Ukrainian drones near the border, with no injuries reported. Similarly, the governor of Smolensk region, bordering Belarus, announced that air defences had shot down five Ukrainian drones without any casualties.
Earlier, Ukraine’s military claimed that at least three drones struck an oil depot in Russia’s Voronezh region on Thursday. On Friday, they reported intercepting 33 out of 50 drones launched by Russia.
