SUKKUR: Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah has taken notice of the incident in Sukkur where a camel’s leg was allegedly cut off, directing immediate treatment for the injured animal.
According to details, the chief minister instructed Sukkur District Council Chairman Syed Kumail Shah to ensure medical care for the camel.
He said that cruelty towards voiceless animals would not be tolerated under any circumstances and that strict action would be taken against those involved in such acts.
Following the chief minister’s directive, Kumail Shah contacted the camel’s owner and dispatched a revenue officer along with a veterinary doctor to the site.
The chief minister further ordered that the camel’s treatment be completed and a report submitted to him.
Earlier, a feudal lord in the Saleh Pat area of Sukkur, Sindh, savagely tortured a young female camel after it wandered into his farmland to drink water and damaged his crop.
The landlord allegedly tied the camel to a tractor and dragged it across the ground, beat it with sticks, broke one of its legs and wounded the animal in the face.
The owner said he tried to get the injured animal treated at a nearby hospital, but the doctors refused to help.
