ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has commenced a two-day official visit to Malaysia from October 5 to 7, responding to a special invitation extended by Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
The visit highlights the strengthening bilateral relationship between Pakistan and Malaysia, with a primary emphasis on enhancing trade and economic cooperation.
Accompanying the Prime Minister on this visit are Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif underscored the importance of deepening ties, particularly in sectors of mutual economic interest and development.
According to diplomatic sources, both delegations are expected to hold comprehensive discussions focused on expanding commercial relations and exploring new investment opportunities. Additionally, regional and international issues will feature prominently in the high-level talks.
The Prime Ministers of Pakistan and Malaysia will also deliberate on ways to enhance cooperation across key sectors including trade, information technology and telecommunications, halal industry, investment, education, energy, infrastructure, and the digital economy.
Expressing confidence in the outcomes of the visit, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif stated that this engagement will further strengthen and elevate the bilateral relationship between the two countries.
This visit aligns with Pakistan’s broader strategy to reinforce partnerships with key nations in the Asia-Pacific region, focusing on sustainable economic growth and regional collaboration.
