ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif formed a 25-member committee to solve the problems of medical education in the country.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has appointed Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar as the convener of the Medical Education Committee. Other members of the committee include Prime Minister Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar, Prime Minister's Coordinator for Health Affairs Dr. Malik Mukhtar Ahmed and MNA Nafisa Shah, and other relevant officers. The vice chancellors of universities are also part of committee.
The committee will review the quality of public and private medical colleges and universities, consider the situation of medical colleges and the challenges they are facing and then make their suggestions regarding the solutions to the problems of medical colleges.
The committee members will review the shortage of admission seats in public and private medical colleges and universities, consider the gap between demand and supply of medical education and prepare an action plan related to medical education.

The committee will also propose a policy regarding admissions in foreign medical colleges, review the number of people going abroad for medical education and the committee will submit its report on medical education to the Prime Minister within 10 days.
