LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has suspended the No Objection Certificates (NOCs) issued to national players for participation in foreign leagues following the team’s defeat in the Asia Cup.
A formal notification in this regard was issued by PCB’s Chief Operating Officer, Sameer Ahmed.The decision to suspend the NOCs came just a day after Pakistan lost the Asia Cup T20 final to India.
The PCB had issued the NOC to these players to participate in the Big Bash League of Australia, but now they have been placed on the hold.
Under this decision, top cricketers of Pakistan, Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi, Mohammad Rizwan and others will be directly affected.
Earlier, India defeated Pakistan by 5 wickets in the Asia Cup 2025 final to claim the championship title.
The much-anticipated clash between the two arch-rivals lived up to the excitement, drawing huge crowds at the stadium and millions of viewers worldwide.
Pakistan batted first and set a competitive target, but India’s strong batting lineup chased it down confidently. Key partnerships in the middle order helped India stay on track, and they reached the target with a few overs to spare.
