ISLAMABAD: At least ten more people lost their lives in rain-related incidents across the country, bringing the total death toll since June 26 to 252, according to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).
The NDMA reported that Punjab remains the worst-hit province, with 139 fatalities recorded so far. Additionally, at least 611 individuals have been injured in various rain-related accidents across different regions.
NDMA said 151 houses fell and 120 cattle were killed in 24 hours during the rains in the country.
Meanwhile, a fresh alert has been issued for heavy rainfall in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa today.
According to the NDMA, citizens have been instructed to stay away from trees, billboards and unsafe construction.
On the other hand, Today, Karachi remains overcast, resulting in a very pleasant climate. Light rain or drizzles are expected during the evening or night, which is welcomed by residents.
The Meteorological Department has forecast a new monsoon spell expected to begin around July 28, bringing heavier rains and thunderstorms.
Minimum temperature recorded today is 28.8°C, with humidity levels at 75%, and the maximum is expected to reach up to 35°C. The wind speed is 18 km/h, blowing from the southwest.
The Met Department warns that a stronger monsoon system is approaching and could bring heavy rainfall and thunderstorms to the city starting around July 28.
