Dubai: Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav lauded Pakistan’s spirited performance in the Asia Cup 2025 final, despite India clinching a thrilling five-wicket win to lift their ninth Asia Cup title in Dubai.
Speaking after the match, Kuldeep acknowledged the intensity of the contest and praised both sides for their competitive play.
“We truly enjoyed the win,” Kuldeep remarked. “It’s always special to beat a strong side like Pakistan. They played some excellent cricket throughout the match.”
Reflecting on the game, Kuldeep admitted that momentum briefly shifted in Pakistan’s favour when India faced an early batting collapse.“At one point, we were three down for just 20 runs the game could’ve easily turned,” he noted. “But the team showed great character and fought back brilliantly.”

Kuldeep stressed that India’s victory was the result of a complete team effort, highlighting performances across the board that proved pivotal.
“Every player contributed,” he said. “Abhishek Sharma and Tilak Varma batted beautifully, Axar Patel’s bowling was sharp, and the partnership between Samson and Tilak was crucial. Chakravarty’s breakthroughs were just as valuable as my four wickets.”
He concluded by saying:
