LAHORE: Pakistani anchorperson Iqrar-ul-Hassan came under fire on social media after celebrating the 13th wedding anniversary with his second wife, Farah Iqrar.
Iqrar, known for hosting the program Sar-e-Aam, first married news anchor Qurat-ul-Ain in 2006, with whom he has a son, Pehlaaj Hassan. In 2012, he tied the knot with media personality Farah Iqrar, keeping the marriage secret for five years.
Later, Iqrar publicly acknowledged his second marriage, stating that it was done with the consent of his first wife. While already in the public eye due to his multiple marriages, rumors of a third marriage began surfacing in October 2023. In March 2024, Iqrar confirmed his third marriage to anchorperson Aroosa Khan.
Public criticism has often stemmed from the lack of a clear explanation for his subsequent marriages, particularly as his wives are not described as older, less attractive, or divorced individuals he married for support.
Farah Iqrar, who is also a successful digital content creator and social media influencer, recently shared a post on Instagram featuring a picture and a short video from her and Iqrar-ul-Hassan's 13th wedding anniversary celebration. The reel showed a simple outing and a small gathering. In the caption, Farah wrote, "Masha Allah, we have completed 13 years together."
Despite Farah Iqrar sharing her happiness the post was met with strong public disapproval and criticism regarding the marriage.
One user commented, it’s not good to comment on someone's personal life, but “I want to tell you that the life you are living is not right, you deserve a better husband than Iqrar”.
Another sarcastically remarked, this is just a laugh with everyone, don't be happy, madam, just prepare for the fourth.
A sarcastic comment also read, I don't understand why people are congratulating a man on his wedding, who keeps bothering his wives one after the other."
Yet another user questioned, only permission to marry was given by the first wife, not to have children, what is the brother's confession?
