IHC stops law enforcers to arrest Salman Akram Raja till tomorrow

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court(IHC) has restrained law enforcers Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf leader Salman Akram Raja from being arrested in any case till tomorrow.

Justice Miangul Hasan Aurangzeb heard the petition of Salman Akram Raja and issued notice to all the parties including the Home Secretary and sought their response.

The court sought the records of all the cases registered against the PTI leader and removed the objections to his plea.

The petitioner said that an attempt was made to arrest Salman Akram Raja yesterday in Lahore, he is afraid of arrest and should be given protective bail.

The lawyer said that “We do not know in which case he was being arrested, so the details should be sought”.

On this, Justice Miangul Hass Aurangzeb remarked that the details of the cases can be sought only through the Interior Secretary. The court can stop the arrest, but the execution will be limited to Islamabad only.

The court adjourned the hearing of the case till tomorrow.
