Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise, two of Hollywood’s biggest stars, have only shared the screen once—in the 1994 film “Interview with the Vampire”. Recently, Pitt expressed interest in working with the “Mission: Impossible” star again, but only under one condition.

While promoting his upcoming racing film “F1”, Brad Pitt told the news that he would only work with Tom Cruise if Cruise sticks to performing stunts on the ground.

Tom Cruise regularly performs death-defying stunts in his films, especially in the “Mission: Impossible” series and the “Top Gun” franchise. At 63, he earned a Guinness World Record for completing 16 burning parachute jumps in “Mission: Impossible 8”.

Pitt Draws the Line: No High-Flying Stunts with Cruise:

During an interview with a media outlet, "Wolfs" star Brad Pitt jokingly said he has no interest in hanging out of airplanes mid-air. When asked about a possible future collaboration with Tom Cruise, he responded, “Well, I’m not gonna hang my ass off airplanes and shit like that.”

Pitt went on to add, “So when he does something again that’s on the ground, [then yes].”

Director Joseph Kosinski and producer Jerry Bruckheimer, who previously worked with Tom Cruise on “Top Gun: Maverick”, are now backing Brad Pitt’s upcoming film “F1”.

Joseph Kosinski Talks Possibility of Pitt–Cruise Collaboration:

Reports reveal that the team began developing “F1” while “Top Gun: Maverick” was still in post-production. At the time, director Joseph Kosinski expressed his desire to reunite Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise in “Ford v Ferrari”. However, the studios rejected the proposed budget, and the roles ultimately went to Christian Bale and Matt Damon.

In an earlier interview with “GQ Magazine”, Joseph Kosinski discussed what might have happened if he had cast Tom Cruise instead of Brad Pitt in “F1”. He said, “Tom always pushes it to the limit, but at the same time is super capable and very skilled.”

He added, “They both have the natural talent for driving. But yeah, I could see Tom maybe scaring us a little bit more.”

As “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning” continues its successful run in theaters, “F1” is set to hit screens on June 27.
