Pakistani actor Ushna Shah has taken a firm stand against online bullying, coming to the defense of a fan who was mocked for crying at Diljit Dosanjh’s Jaipur concert. The incident, which saw the young woman being ridiculed on social media, sparked a discussion on emotional expression and cyberbullying.
“Some people spend their money to go to a live concert just to record it on their phones. Others live in the moment, soak in the music, and express their emotions,” Shah wrote on X (formerly Twitter). She emphasized that for many, music is therapeutic and attending a concert of their favorite artist can become a cherished memory.
“That moment was profoundly meaningful to her, and it’s unfortunate that a lot of creators online responded to it with trolling. I truly hope that experience isn’t ruined for her, she did nothing wrong,” the Habs actor added.
Singer Diljit Dosanjh also stood up for the fan during a Hyderabad concert. “Music is an emotion. It makes people smile, dance, fight, fall, and even cry. I, myself, have cried several times listening to music,” he said in Punjabi. He further added, “You are insulting her, you are insulting the daughter of the country.”
The incident has sparked widespread support, highlighting the need for compassion online.
