Selena Gomez is proudly cheering for her "Emilia Pérez" family, even though she didn’t receive an Oscar nomination this year. She celebrated the news of her co-stars Karla Sofía Gascón and Zoe Saldaña earning Academy Award nods for Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress, respectively.

The actress, singer, and Rare Beauty mogul proudly shared her excitement on Instagram Stories, writing, "So incredibly proud of my @emiliaperez family!!" She accompanied the message with a reel of her co-stars' nomination announcements.

Although the “Baila Conmigo” singer wasn't among the nominees, her movie “Emilia Pérez” received multiple Oscar nominations, including Best Picture, Best International Feature Film, Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay, and two Best Original Song nods.

Directed by Jacques Audiard, this musical crime drama follows an ambitious lawyer, played by Saldaña, who is hired by a Mexican drug cartel leader, portrayed by Gascón, to assume a new identity through gender-affirming surgery.

Gomez portrays Jessi Del Monte, the estranged wife of the Mexican cartel leader. The “Wizards of Waverly Place” actress has already earned recognition this awards season, receiving nominations for Best Supporting Actress at both the BAFTAs and the Golden Globes.

Meanwhile, Gascón has become the first openly trans woman to be an Oscar-nominated actress, setting another cultural milestone for "Emilia Pérez". Saldaña celebrated her first-ever Oscar nomination on Instagram, writing, "I am truly honored and grateful for the nomination. Thank you so much for considering me for this award. I am thrilled to be among such a talented company."

The “Avatar” actress will compete for Best Supporting Actress against Ariana Grande, Monica Barbaro, Isabella Rossellini, and Felicity Jones. Gascón will face fellow nominees Cynthia Erivo of “Wicked”, Mikey Madison of “Anora”, Demi Moore of “The Substance”, and Fernanda Torres of “I'm Still Here”.
