Aamir Khan opens up on his decision to quit films and his children’s influence

  • Aamir Khan revealed why he briefly considered quitting films.
  • He shared that the pandemic prompted him to reassess his life.
  • He has since decided to find a balance between his passion and life.
In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, Bollywood actor Aamir Khan revealed why he briefly considered quitting films before the release of Laal Singh Chaddha.

Reflecting on his 35-year career, Aamir shared that the Covid-19 pandemic prompted him to reassess his life choices, particularly in terms of personal relationships.

Aamir explained, "Towards the end of Covid-19, I felt, sitting alone and thinking I've spent the bulk of my adult life, starting from the age of 18 when I became an assistant right up to now, all of my bandwidth, my focus has been cinema and films." He admitted that this realization led to feelings of guilt: "I felt that I had not been there for these people... I went through that emotional moment where I felt I've given my whole life to cinema and I've not been there for my family."

It was his children, Junaid and Ira Khan, who convinced him to reconsider. Junaid’s advice particularly stood out, as he told Aamir that he was going from "one extreme to another" and that "somewhere in the middle also there is a space that you can be in." Aamir has since decided to find a balance between his passion for cinema and his family life.

On the work front, Amir Khan was last seen in the film Laal Singh Chaddha and made a guest appearance in Salam Venky.
