Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan has confirmed that his highly anticipated film, Sitaare Zameen Par, is set for a Christmas release this year. Speaking at an event in Vadodara, Gujarat, on Sunday, the actor revealed his plans to return to the big screen with the much-awaited sequel to Taare Zameen Par.
"My next film as a lead actor is Sitaare Zameen Par. We are trying to release it by the end of this year, on the occasion of Christmas," Aamir said.Khan, who last appeared in Laal Singh Chaddha, described the film as an entertaining story that holds a special connection to Vadodara. "It is an entertaining film, I like the story. It is the sequel to Taare Zameen Par and the climax of that movie was shot in Vadodara," he added.
Initially slated for release in December 2024, the film was postponed due to pending post-production work. Speaking at a film festival last month, Khan explained the delay: "We would be ready to release the film in the middle of next year."
Directed by RS Prasanna, Sitaare Zameen Par is said to be inspired by the Spanish film Champions, focusing on the theme of Down Syndrome. The movie stars Aamir Khan alongside Darsheel Safary and Genelia D’Souza.
