The Meteorological Office has predicted rain, windstorms, and thunderstorms in the upper and central parts of the country over the next few days. A well-marked low-pressure system is currently over the Gulf of Kutch, which is causing moist currents to enter Sindh.
A fresh western disturbance is also likely to reach the northern areas of the country tonight. It is expected to become stronger from October 3 and may last until October 7.
Because of these weather conditions, rain, windstorms, and thunderstorms are expected at a few places in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Galliyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Mianwali, and Khushab from tonight until October 3.
From October 4 to 6, widespread rain, windstorms, and thunderstorms with scattered heavy rainfall are expected in many areas including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Galliyat, Lahore, Sialkot, Faisalabad, Multan, Bahawalpur, and several other districts of Punjab. There are also chances of hailstorms during this period.
Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa: Widespread rain-windstorm/thunderstorm with scattered heavyfalls/hailstorm is expected in Dir, Chitral, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Buner, Malakand, Bajaur, Mohmand, Kohat, Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Mardan, Swabi, Khyber, Orakzai, Kurram, Hangu, Karak, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Waziristan, Tank, and Dera Ismail Khan from 2nd to 7th October.
Kashmir/Gilgit-Baltistan: Rain-windstorm/thunderstorm is expected at isolated places in Kashmir (Neelum valley, Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Poonch, Hattian, Bagh, Haveli, Sudhanoti, Kotli, Bhimber, Mirpur) and Gilgit-Baltistan (Diamir, Astore, Ghizer, Skardu, Hunza, Gilgit, Ghanche, Shigar) on 2nd and 3rd October.
Sindh: Rain-windstorm/thunderstorm with isolated heavy falls is expected in Tharparker (Mithi, Islamkot, Nagarparkar, Chachro, Dhali, Diplo, Kaloi), Umer Kot, Mirpurkhas, Sanghar, Khairpur, Matiari, Tando Allayar, Tando Muhammad Khan, Hyderabad, Jamshoro, Karachi, Thatta, Badin, and Sajawal from tonight to 3rd October.
Balochistan: Rain-windstorm/thunderstorm is expected at isolated places in Zhob, Sherani, Loralai, Kohlu, Barkhan, Dera Bugti, Musakhel, Qila Saifullah, Quetta, Ziarat, Sibbi, and Naseerabad from 4th (Night) to 6th October.
