The average price of ghee and oil in Pakistan recorded a significant decrease during May 2024. According to the monthly report by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, the average price of one liter of mustard oil in May 2024 was Rs 499.85, compared to Rs 568.78 in May last year.
The report also highlighted that the average price of 5 liters of Dalda cooking oil in May 2024 was Rs 2652.29. This price is 0.69% less than in April 2024 and 19.62% less than in May last year. Additionally, the average price of 2.5 liters of Dalda Banaspati Ghee in May 2024 was Rs 1292.15, marking a 0.72% decrease from April 2024 and a 15.48% decrease from May last year.
In comparison, in April 2024, the average price of 2.5 liters of Banaspati Ghee was Rs 1282.93, while it was Rs 1547.12 in May last year. Similarly, the average price of one liter of ghee in May 2024 was Rs 503.29, which is 0.96% higher than in April 2024 but 15.45% lower than in May last year.
This decline reflects a notable reduction in the prices of ghee and oil in the country.
